I had a Steptoe shaper a few years ago. 14". Too big for my shop, so I sold it. Was lots of fun, though.

Joker expects 5 gold bars with his make an offer, Hate this type of seller.
Thanks for posting

Not sure on the going rate for gold bars, but 7 years ago I got $900 two hours after listing.

He has removed/discarded the foot. (really important part)
Important pieces of the drive train are missing.

This is a SHOW ONLY machine now. It would cost hundreds of dollars to make this machine 'right' again. The drive pulleys and drive train are really costly components. He as made it 'pretty' for a collector - not for a person wanting to make chips. PASS

Noticed the missing door. Didn't look at the other pictures. Too bad it's missing the "guts" of what makes it work.

If you want to see it running, I posted short video. Set up with 1/4 hp motor, but worked great with light to moderate cuts in brass and Al. Made a nice rack gear for some Lego Mindstorms projects with this.

I miss the shaper. I like the extra room I have and the speed of a mill.

So from the video one can see that it is missing the cone pulley - this would be very hard to get or make one - I guess cast one as AL or something. Also there is a missing power feed "bar" - not sure what its called - it connects the table gear to the ram motion - so table can advance.
The foot is least of the problems - at least on mine its a simple round bar with a square end - easy to make.

But the rest, that can be an issue. I guess you can remove cone pully idea and use just regular pulley with a VFD for speed control?

As to the power feed... well... yeah. That would be some project.

Maybe if anyone wants a shaper ask the owner for missing parts?
