Sold for $5,300 -- $6,348.34 with taxes and fees. I wasn't bidding as getting that thing to me would have been quite the adventure right now. Still seems like a deal to me though. I remember seeing a similar machine at a dealer in Edmonton 10 years ago for $4,500 (and I'll forever be kicking myself for not getting it). One day...
I almost bid on the other lathe ( TOS SN32) but it was just too big for my garage, and wasn't sure how many 575v motors were in it I'd have to change out. Rigging was going to be around $1300 to get it to me, which I thought was reasonable.
The lathe only went for like $1500 after fees but ultimately I felt I should not roll the dice on an older gigantic machine.
Once the standard modern got above $4500 I didn't bother bidding...I probably could've moved that one myself on my trailer as it was half the weight of the TOS but oh well, next time
Ref the 1440 - for the age of the machine, even spending another $3k or $4k in tooling it would still be a decent price, if one had the means and the wanna.
