Sourcing set screws

I am having a hard time finding fine thread set screws. I would like to replace the gib screws on my compound rest with 10-32 x 1 inch. I tried Princess Auto, Peavey Mart, the Depot and China Tire, nada. Any help is appreciated........................Daniel

can you live with 3/4" length? KBC has that size.

I have a few local fastener suppliers who always have everything but no web presence or online sales. NF should have the same

Brafasco... whatever they're called now should have em... NF should have a store

Any decent industrial fastener house will have them, my old shop bought thousands at a time, from 3mmx5mm up to 3/8”x2”. In BC it’s K2 Fasteners or Pacific Fasteners.

I may have some. I’ll message you if I do.
I’ll look now
Martin
Sorry no Allen screws just 10/32x1” flat socket screws. I have #10/24 x 1” or Try Bickles on Main Street in NF. They will have them or will order them in.

In addition to what others suggest, try Fastenal and good old Amazon.....

Also, for gib screws, you could buy socket head cap screws and just let them stay proud of the plate, or grind down the head, or even grind it down and cut threads in it. Lots of options.

I have a bunch of 10-32 x 1.25" cup point steel that you could cut down, or a bunch of 10-32 xd 3/4" SS if that would help. I can pop some in the mail.

Is your machine US-made or offshore? #10-32 is almost the same as M5-0.80, and a #10-32 screw will fit a female M5-0.80 thread. Lots of M5 stuff available off Amazon.

I realize not necessarily helpful for you folks up North, but local hardware stores, Bolt Depot and Grainger & McMaster (but may need to buy in quantity; others no minimums).

@mmcmdl Dave, do you have anything that small?

I tried Brafasco (White Hat or White Cap) or sumpin like that. They didn't have any and also wanted 25 bucks to order them cuz I don't have an account with them. They also said I would have to order 100. WTF??

I’ll second @Martin w ’s suggestion - try Bickles
(Bickles Main Industrial Supply, 5964 Main St Niagara Falls)

I’m repeating Martin’s comment because this is a hardware supply that every CHMW would put on their favourite suppler list after a first visit (they stock the most fasteners I’ve ever seen in one spot + tools and other hardware).
