Interesting find in my YouTube travels. I worked on this project for a couple years as a volunteer in late 70's when I was in high school. It was being constructed in the 'basement' of the Centennial Planetarium. I recognize many of the parts & pieces I helped make, mostly relating to the wings & related metal fittings at that particular time. Unfortunately no pics of me (maybe just as well haha) but I remember when they took some of those shots. I'll have to swing by for a visit again. Stan, the fellow mentioned who headed the project, was in the RAF, then a pilot in Canada & ex-SAIT instructor (retired when I met him). I have yet to meet very many people with his hand skills. He was also a model engineer enthusiast with several gorgeous steam locomotives, traction engines etc. That's where I first saw a Myford lathe. I recall seeing a small mill but (fading memory) he said that came much later, much of the work was done with typical era bootstrap lathe accessories & hand tools.
