There is seven of them in one lot, one for each room in the house, lol. This could be a chance for 6 or seven people to get together and each get a machine. 4 are working, 3 need "minor" repairs.

Math, my favorite. Seven 12x36 lathes. Current bid is $8k. Let’s say they go for $10k. I’ll pick Calgary as our end destination. Seven lathes will take up maybe 20ft of deck. $1k to hire a machinery mover to skid and load on to a Manitoulin truck. Roughly $4k to move from Barrie to Calgary.

So $15k for seven lathes landed in AB. What‘s a realistic sell price for one of these? BB sells for $6k. Maybe get $2500 each? Keep one, sell the rest. End up with a free 12x36.

You forgot HST and buyers premium - so its extra 2000 on top of this.

Main problems here are
1. where would you store 7 lathes & load unload times.
2. you are assuming it would be 5k to move them here - but would it be? There is a time limit to pick up & unless you have chickenlights on call, this may become risky.
3. What if there are some problems with machines? You may need to do some basic fixing
4. selling stuff is NOT free - its work - you have to advertise, take calls etc. Then load the sucker up.

I think realistic price is over 2500 if in good condition. To move them quick you could use auctions - I think they would sell for 3000 at auction (remember 20% buyer fee - so actual is 3600) so minus seller fees I think you could get your 2500. Some could be sold private, for up to 4000.

For 7 machines in Calgary it would take, even at lower price, well over a month.

Note I did bring 2 machines for a flip from BC. Yes I made $. But I moved myself AND stored them on the trailer itself. If it were 3 or 4 King lathes in say BC for say 1500 each I would jump on the idea. But I do not have easy ability to deal with 7 and ON is very, very far (relative to BC).

Someone in ON will get them - no need to pay 5000 cost, maybe 1000.

Good guess @whydontu . They sold for $9500, but after fees/taxes, $11,379.
