Had this vise for years and it is been a pain in cranking the vice up and down. Removed the threaded shaft that is pinned to the knob, drilled and tapped the top for a bolt, pinned it and return to the vice. Now I can use a wrench or whatever without breaking my wrist. It is the simple things that can make life a pain!

This is what I was cutting in the vise! Telescope part. Could have waited until Monday and used the shops Bridgeport and taken 10% of the time and much simpler set up but I can do this stuff at home if the parts are not too big. This piece is 3” on the edge the cut has been done.
