PA gantry crane is back

In the past year I have purchased a XY Mill Table and a 3” Swivel Milling Vise from VEVOR.
Both have good castings and ground datum surfaces. The units were packed well for shipment and there was no damage or marks on the machined surfaces.

I purchased set of castings from Vevor - tilting milling table. Paid just over 120 for it (7 x 10 in, 16kg). Not ready for any action out the box, but after some milling I think it is functional. I should also re-grind the table and the base, but that is a lot of work, base is at rounded, had to mount it in special way on the lathe.

Overall good castings, need lots of work to make them "straight". For example, mine had a whopping 14 thou wobble at the base. But now I hot it milled and there is none.

If you want to be sure ... true-up those surfaces.
Make sure your qualifying machine is ‘square and true’.

I worked on full-size knee mills years ago, since then I have designed industrial equipment and worked with machining vendors in NA and Europe. Dozens of casting jobs for tooling projects has left me creating detailed inspection lists for purchased components.
