Is this any good. It fits my budget and bench space? I don't do much bending but it would be nice to have. I have been bending on my vice for years and some things look it.
I've borrowed the neighbours a couple of times. It's not great but it does work for thin sheet.
Keep your expectations low. I just bought one as well cause it's on sale.
Build one on the side of your welding table. With cutoffs from metal supermarkets it would be about the same price. Took me 3-4hrs to build the one one my table at work in my active project thread
This was built at work, but why not throw it up. Had to build a stainless sheet metal cover and didn't have a brake.
Built one into the end of the welding table. Bent the 34" ish 20 gauge stainless almost no problem, flexed a little in the middle but for the amount of use it will get probably good enough. Might reinforce the top piece of angle in the middle if needed.
If you remove the top piece your table is basically back to normal. Would bend shorter pieces of 16g and tabs of I believe it was 1/8" flat bar.
The top bend on the stainless cover was done in a vise, so it wasn't near as crisp as the bends from the brake.
