Not a deal, but location, location, location

Seems to be the same price as new but for us prairie boys the location may be appealing.

"Same Price as new". So basically you save shipping, exchange rate, duty, waiting for delivery and back-orderd options? And if the warranty is even transferable (?) you've lost the first 1 year+ of it? Yeah, maybe, for someone.

Any concerns about it's country of origin? Watching Atom 79 on You Tube for years and he just purchased a Precision Matthews Lathe, and he comes with a fairly high level of integrity, so I'm thinking this is a pretty good brand even owing to it's manufacturing country.

Quality of equipment, brand name and origin.

Almost all machines come from the same source regardless of the brand, the difference is how the different brands option them out from the factory (ie components....gears, shafts, bearings, level of precision, etc).

So PM, Grizzly, BB, King and others are the same base machines with the fine finishing details being the difference. This applies to all machines from lathes to mills.

So back to quality, similarly priced and looking machines are likely the same base source, the details and final cost are going to drive the level of performance you get in the components.

Overall for this machine you seem to be getting a very decent package with a power head, and x axis feed, with dro.

@Degen and I and a few others disagree on the definition of same but different and we laugh about our same but different views. So I'll present a different view of the same view.

A few members on here have Precision Mathews machines and seem to like them a lot. I don't have one but I have developed a considerable level of respect for PM and their level of support based on member comments. They are a bit pricier than some of the others but my perception is that you get some good value for your extra dollars in terms of features but especially in terms of support. If I were shopping, I'd prolly lean toward getting one myself.

You could try searching the forum for "Precision Mathews". Most members just shortform that to PM, but that also means Private Message so you will miss a few posts. But you will still get a feel for how others feel about their PM's!

That's a good price for that machine guys. Notice it comes with a heavy cast iron base! Same machine Stephan Gotswinter has under the Optima label. What a perfect size machine for home hobbyists. No surprise it's sold.

Sadly out of my price range at this time. Otherwise I would have asked to see it, if I could have gotten a chance. There was a lot of people that had it bookmarked.
