Hello all, I've been a member for a year & a half but somehow overlooked the introduction post.
I was born and raised in Ottawa but since retirement have moved out to the country on the Upper Ottawa River.
A small house with a big shop....like to fish and play in the woods.
I like to bend my trucks so got used to fixing them in my spare time.
I have a tiny Unimat lathe that was a gift as well as welders, metal benders, hydraulic press,etc,etc...and an old Lister Diesel with a generator head.
Always looking for new tools/toys to play with.

Welcome from south of Chatham Ontario. Ya, I've seen some of your posts. Still it's always good to introduce yourself.

I try not to bend trucks or tractors, but crap happens!

Yeah my record was 2 replacement sets of rear leaf springs on my 95 Tacoma.
I found out later that some guys were modifying their trucks with larger leaf springs off of
GM pickups, they lasted for years.

Belated welcome from Burlington. Knowing that you can fix stuff makes it a bit easier to go faster and jump higher.

Welcome...

upper ottawa area, nice and wisely non-specific.

I often think I should change my handle to GTHAbuilder

Made me chuckle
When Mario came out ( with the pipes ) my niece would wake up in a panic because she couldn’t jump high enough or jump far enough.

I like to tell people that Renfrew County is larger than the state of Delaware.
To add to the confusion I sometimes tell city people I live in Horton Township....

I used to give locals my "911" address ( street number and name) and get a blank stare.
But if I tell them "Castleford.... the old Deslaurier cabinet factory" they nod immediately....

Until you're under the pickup's rear axle with a trailer in tow using a block of firewood & ratchet straps to keep the axle's left side spring from departing the rest of the truck.....that was a real white knuckle drive home. I was lucky to get to pavement, frankly surprised the repair lasted to my driveway.
