Got them both. The little guy is practically new old stock. Or seller is lying. But given size of business I find that unlikely.

The big one is in slightly better condition then the Indian one it is replacing. It is TOS 40B. I think made in 1980. I checked all speeds work. I checked the power feed works and I hope threading works as well. If threading works it has 2 issues:

1. it has noticeable wear on the bedways. Not as ugly as the Indian lathe I have but I would say the war is around 10 thou. You can easily catch it with fingernail.

2. the gap section is missing. they used the lathe for 15 years with missing gap section.

I got a set of Dickson tool holders with it, Skoda live center, home made live center, Rohm chuck and some chuck keys. Also unknown, a bit bitten, but otherwise good D1-6 3 jaw chuck. I plan to adapt steady / follow from my current lathe - not like I use them anyways.

What do you guys think? It is going to be a royal pain to swap lathes. I think it is an upgrade - yes both have wear but my "new" lathe is nice and quiet in all speeds, has working power feed (and I hope threading) and a clutch system. May also have touch less wear.

I plan to auction off my Indian beast.
