Mill work stop on AliExpress

I get these Aliexpress email ads all the time. Unfortunately they are kind of crazy, often there is no direct click link to the product they show, so you end up searching (hint: use their title even if it doesnt make sense)
Anyways, spotted this. Not sure how much for shipping but I bought a similar one years ago & works fine.

Newbie question what are these actually used for?

This style is attached to mill table T-slot. The rod extends & fixed into position. Now the work can contact it before being clamped in vise in a repeatable manner, like for multiple parts. Or sometimes to add extra support. You can also have vise mounted stops, serves a similar purpose.
