Metal Lathe - Atlas - 10"x 48" - $700

http://www.lathes.co.uk/atlas-10-inch-1947-catalog/

I think its actually 10x36 300lbs

It is just an H so a pre WWII model - it would need to be in good condition - if it lived hard life of whole WWII it may be very worn out.

If complete and in decent condition I think the price is good. It is cheaper then new mini lathe & about priced the same as someone else's mini used. It has significantly bigger work envelope & is like 4x heavier then a mini.

If in decent condition I would rather have this then a used mini.

Looking at eBay this lathe parted out is worth at least 700 (if everything works).

In AB, Calgary last year we have price discussion - a 12x36 sold for 900 - https://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net/f...at-should-i-offer-for-this-atlas-th54-6-lathe
This one is touch smaller and no gear box - so if all else is good 700 seems OK (not a steal - OK).
