FEELER FTL 618 high precision lathe, Toronto ON, $23,000

This better be in perfect condition with like recently re-ground ways.
It is sold by a dealer. I would not be shocked if both of offered machines were still offered a long time from now.

The ad says it is actually located in Trois-Rivieres.

Lathes.com says it is a very exact copy of a Hardinge HLV made in Taiwan.

Yes, its a machine dealer. Probably got these for 10k each and now wants to double his money. Good luck. But I doubt they sell for that much unless beds were reground. Since no mention in the ad, I bet they were not. So what they paid for them is what they are worth. I still think Hardinge HLV original made in US, in the same condition, is worth a bit more.

This ad pops up once and while in my side bar.....thank you google.

Is this for the bargain hunter (or the DIYers)? It says "(Starting around $28,680)", but I'm not sure if that is in reference to the Hardinge HLV-H model or the Babin model.

This one has all the goodies, tailstock, collet chuck, leadscrew. Still, $22k more than this one:

And according to the ad I’m not allowed to buy it, no DIYers need apply.
I saw that lathe in person back in the fall off 2021. Not the same thing at all. The OP posted a Feeler 618 which has a proper apron and tail stock. The one you've mentioned is a complete different machine (sometimes called a second opp machine), with a 90deg only apron and turret. You can't give turret lathes away and that's why it's priced at $900 with still no bites.

You can't give turret lathes away

@garball In a modern machine shop you are 100% right. My mentor used to say the exact same thing - for 40 years...

If you view it as a hobby lathe, then the turret tailstock has no disadvantages, and is in the size range that many hobby machinists would like. If I compare that lathe to a SB 9A, and don't need the 33" length, then the feeler is a much better machine at about 1/2 the price. I'd say a very good deal, despite it being a turret lathe.

If I had room, it wouldn't still be for sale.
