They've also just posted a couple of lathes - too large for most hobbyists, but...
I may not have gotten that milling machine, but I got one of those lathes (for the Vancouver Hack Space, not myself personally) - the 12x36"! I'm not sure where it came from, but it appears to be in excellent condition, having had very little use, and just needs a good cleaning and oiling.

Post some pictures!

Sure! I'll take some more tomorrow as I start the cleaning & inspection. But look at these photos - there's barely a chip in the paint, just a whole lot of dust and dirt!

I saw someone post final numbers for some auctions in another thread for everyone's future reference, so here's ours:
* Auction (BC Auction) closed at $1700.98
* $119.07 PST and $85.05 GST
* Riggers for delivery from Surrey to Vancouver (close to downtown) was $300
* Rental of a burk bar and pallet jack from A&B Tool Rentals for $60

I think you did well. When you get time you'll need to inventory the parts and pieces that came with it. I see the 3jaw and steady rest, enquiring minds want to know.
Is the machine 110volt or is that the plug for the light?

It's currently wired for 110V but can be wired for 110V or 220V - we'll be running it on 220V. Surprisingly it doesn't have an e-stop, so we'll be adding that too (along with a magnetic interlock).

One reason I suspect it was cheap is that it didn't come with any other accessories, and has a 4-way indexing toolpost rather than an Aloris-style QC. There were enough benefits to the upgrade over our previous lathe that it was still more than worth it despite the additional costs for things like a 4-jaw and QC tool post. For now, I'm not sure what we're going to do about the tool post as our old lathe we had an AXA on, so we have plenty of those holders around, but a BXA-sized tool post would be better suited to this new lathe. A BXA would allow us to use more rigid tooling, but there's a high cost of switching. Decisions, decisions!

So far I'm about halfway through a deep-clean, and haven't found anything concerning yet. The entire lathe is caked in a very thick layer of grime which has worked wonders as a protective layer! I had to use a scraper to get through the bulk of it, and the metal/paint underneath is in great condition. Once the cleaning is done, I'll check for wear, backlash, and alignment.
