Neat modification. The rod & cam lever sense the stop position. This triggers the (quite instantaneous) threading clam shell disengagement by using a pre-loaded spring. Kind of a booby trap principle LOL.

 
Hmnn I wonder how precise that would be with stopping in the same spot each time? Neat and simple enough.
