From what I've read (can't remember where) Lantaine is supposed one of the better Taiwanese generic lathes.
 
For this size lathe, with standard disclaimers, its a good price.

I mean come on, how much a new lathe costs in 12 x 36? Well? With taxes its easily over 4000 if you want QCGB.

I agree, but keep going tom, she's well over 5k for a lathe that size with a quick change box now

Given Alberta's market, that looks like as good a deal as someone is gonna get around here

I imagine that 4jaw is covered in surface rust from being in an unheated shop and never being used
