International Day of the Drill Grinder?

Pilling on a little to the theme of the day, but it is made in Canada ;-)

May I present the Osborn (shameless copy) version of the Clarkson drill grinding attachment. Beefier and fun to use. Need to make a method better than offhand grinding bigger mt tapered drills on a belt grinder. Mostly for drills that don’t fit in the Osborn without spending the big bucks for an Oliver 600 or other. Also have an Oliver 21HD. Maybe I need an intervention…

Hey @Lucky7 I just posted about the Clarkson unit. I'm missing a few pieces. Where are you located? I would like to see the dimensions of the base. Mine is missing.

One province and about 24 hrs driving, unless the Alberta clipper arrives tonight, west of you.

Unfortunately don’t have the time to take my Osborn apart to get measurements right now.

I’ve seen a few Clarksons, but I’ve never used one of their drill pointers, so not sure I’m much help. I’ll attach a few pages of Osborn manual for you on the off chance that helps. Really I think your best bet is to find a Clarkson owner. They do seem to be quite common.

Thank you so much for that.

If you get the chance to trace around the base on a piece of paper. Put some approximate dimensions on it. And what I need to know is the angle that the center-line of the chuck makes with say the right side when it's set at the 59° mark., and the two lines on the top parts are lined up. It looks like 45°, but I'd like to make certain.

Whenever you have the chance. I'm in no rush.

I see from another thread you are getting the info you need from a Clarkson owner. This is fantastic- now no worries about differences in the stuff above the base Clarkson vs Osborn.
