It isn't so much that he sold them out from under you (hot deals go fast) as it is that you made arrangements and then he yanked the rug. That's just wrong on so many levels. Happened to me a few times too.

A** H***

I usually look for a rating system and use it. See how much they like the world seeing them for what they are.

I had made arrangements to pick it up. He was busy until this afternoon. Then I get a notice it was sold…
Im sorry that this happened to you. But I'm glad that you let us know. I wont deal with dishonourable pricks so I'm blocking Luc Doucet.

Depending on the wording of your communications you may have had an implied contract. Breaking such things is sleazy on his part

Seems to be like this nowadays. I guess there is a lot of riff raff out there when you are selling stuff, but I always give the first caller first dibs, even if they can’t come for a couple days. Then I go down the list if they don’t show or pass.
Prob 75% (or more) of people don't show up.

Been burned more then a few times holding it for someone and they ghost you.

Typically first person to show up with cash or put a deposit on it gets the item. Or if they have a lot of really good reviews, then I may take the risk holding it for them.

If I'm selling something at a low enough price that multiple people want it right now, it's because I want it gone right now.

Not that it is what happened in your case, but know that for every 1 bad seller on Kijiji/Facebook there are 999 shitty buyers to deal with.

Kijidiots is what I call them.

Unless I know the buyer, the first with the cash gets it. On the forum here is a little different though, of course.
I couldn't count how much time I've sat in my garage waiting for someone, pulled something out of storage and had it all ready to go, moved a bunch of tools around..... For them to back out and/or just ghost me

I like being a respectful seller, but when you're selling to 75% a$$hats it's hard.
