I am no expert but I believe most (all) turret lathes are sold for around the price of scrap or at least I saw them sold for around that.

Someone whom knows more can chime in, but $3000 feels way over the top.

Herbert is a nice machine, but due to logistics it should be a lot cheaper. It weights around 2400 lbs...

Yeah, getting it off Mayne Island would be a bit of a logistical challenge.
