I know we don't generally discuss guns here but there is a gunsmith retiring and his lot of machining equipment is all up for sale. I thought this might be ok. Hope so.

Located in Bentley, AB

The ad can be found on gunpost.ca. Anyone interested will probably be familiar with it.

I should ad that I suspect he is hoping to sell it all at once to someone wanting to get into the trade but I am guessing.

Some nice machines to be had.....

Hmnn if I could relocate and knock 10-20 years off my age I think I would consider that a possible opportunity. I don't imagine it would be cheap as it looks well cared for and thought out.

Geez, my shop never looks like that. Ever.
Mine either. Even after a deep clean it is still just organized chaos.

Besides that, fall harvest has disappeared from the rear view mirror so its time to do repairs and equipment maintenance on my farm stuff and more that a few pieces of stuff from all my neighbours too.

My shop will NEVER look like that. Not even after she pushes me into the hole......

And besides all that, I could never make money at full-time smithing. I'm WAAAYYY too much of a perfectionist. Nobody ever pays for that even though they do expect it.

David is/was very well respected in the community, I knew him personally and if he says something about his equipment to a prospective buyer...you can take it to the bank.
The man was meticulous to an extreme when building components for firearms...same as his shop looks in photo's, he apprenticed in London ,England at one of the prestige orientated English gunmakers ( I cant remember if it was H& H or Purdy).

Yeah, me too. Looks like he's got it all.

ShawnR who started this post and had contacted me about some of my equipment and just let me know that he had linked it to this site. Thanks moderators for allowing this and also thanks Shawn for posting, who knows where things will lead from here. A previous reply mentioned that I worked for an English gunmaker, I would to clear up rumors before they get started. I did not work for H&H nor Purdy's I am a Scotsman and started in the guntrade in my home land before immigrating to Alberta. Anyway thanks all for the kind words regarding my shop and tools that I have gathered over a lifetime of working on sporting guns and rifles. Best Regards, David Henry.
