Might cost a bit to move. Make a great kitchen table but could put a little too much stress on the floor joists.

Or you could use it as a base for your 3D printer; like so (he has a few videos on that project)…

There was a surface plate forsale not that long ago on Alberta kijiji that was about half that size and the seller wanted 1000. No calibration sticker, obviously had considerable wear, etc etc.

The " 'Berta Advantage"

It has to be gone by Friday or Saturday (today or tomorrow). Too far for me to drive to get it by that timeline. He'll probably junk it.

it is 48X48X8, about 2000 lbs. stand included. he can load.

I have a similar deal I have been trying to make work somehow...

a CMM granite table 80" x 50" x 12" thick, 4800 pounds.

I can get it, I can move it, and I can cut it into smaller blocks 20" x24" but with some rough hewn sides, but still 12" thick meaning 600 pounds each.

I'm trying desperately to find a place with a wire saw that can split this into 4" and 8" thick slabs... or two 6" thick slabs... and then section those slabs so that I'd have 8 decent plates 20 x 24 x 4, and then however I want to cut the remaining 8" thick granite slab to use as tool bases, table tops, carving blocks...

Any monument shop can do it.
