Estate sale machinist/knife making - Barrhead alberta

One of the more amusing recent auctions was the one for Russel Garen’s estate. 16% buyers premium, 4% credit card fee, 12% state tax, if like me you’re not a business and you’re bringing it across the 49th, 12% Canadian tax. I lost count of the math. Didn’t bid.

I feel a little better that the stuff I was interested in during the first of his auctions went crazy high, and this was before even considering all the extra fees.

Simple answer: no bid.

Ouch ye the last auction I was at nickled and dimed everything. I asked about some of the lots that didn't sell and they wanted way to much for some stuff no one bothered to bid 5$ on.

Also wanted 50$ a load to have the seller use their forklift to load you.

I sincerely hope that surface grinder was a total basket case in an earlier life.
It doesn't look like it was modified to the point you could switch it back to stones but I doubt they maintained it judging by the 5 lbs or so of grit spray welded to back stop lol
