Just be aware that cast iron weights often contain impurities like sand and high carbon nodules than can ruin a tool.

Although I'd bet that the older and made in Canada cast iron might not be too bad for impurities and a far cry better than offshore stuff.

I'd be willing to bet you are right but I have nothing other than instinct and common sense to back that up.

Lots of guys have had issues - anyone know anything about old Canadian castings?
