Given their current CX615 which is basically the same as this one sells for $3699+tax, it's still not a terrible compromise at that price.
 
I going to be nice, for the right person it could be the ideal setup, but when you look at all the compromises you are better off with a dedicated lathe and milling on it directly (using various methods, and yes there are several). You'll have a more rigid base and resultant better accuracy.

So the making fun part...if you are giving me $1000.00 its definitely a deal ;)
