No prices posted. I've messaged the seller.

I dont facebook, I am sure many others dont for moral reasons as well.

perhaps post the price for others here at least. If we like the price then we can grapple with a moral dilemma

No response from the seller yet. No prices in their ad.
Thanks.

I always assume that those people who list an item without naming a price either have unrealistic price expectations, and they want you to contact them so they can extoll the virtues of what they have to sell, "the lathe was used by a little old lady from Pasadena whose husband passed away before he even got to use it" OR there are condition issues that they'd prefer to tell you about in person.

Those Edelstaad lathes were considered by the Modern millwrights to be great machines. I haven't seen one myself, however.

I've been talking to the guy about the lathe, one chuck, one face plate, no fallow, no steady, 208v 3 phase, was asking if he has the couple change gears I believe it has....I haven't heard back

It is however not a 14" lathe, it's 320mm/12.5"..... By what I can figure maybe 30"

Price "offers", is the answer I've gotten

I think the seller is Image Inspection Services. 50th av. SE just of 52 street. I think their closing or moving. Not sure which. They had a sale on Saturday. I think your looking at what's left over.

Well I got him back to the conversation with an offer of 1500, but really this is a 12x36 missing a bunch of stuff with a 3 phase motor, a guy would at the bare minimum need to throw a VFD at it, fab up a backing plate and buy a 4 jaw to have a reasonably functional lathe....so really, worth like 2k? And that might be high for a mystery machine from Brazil (Google brings it up as a torno imor pnr320)

He says too many messages he got to respond to. I guess lots of interested people. lots. Will post a date and time for people to come and view.

ive gotten sporadic reply's, he has declined offers but will not counter off...and will not even entertain throwing a number out there, i have a feeling he is going to try and turn it into a little informal auction where it ends up going for the same price as a new import 12x36......without the 4 jaw, fallow/steady, and a 3 phase motor

Given the interest I do not blame him - I mean he must be slammed by like 20 - 30 people.

You can easily get a history for it if he will divulge the serial number. Modern Tool has complete records on every sale of every one of their machines, new and used.
