Cute little guy, but not everyone wants to carry a 1000lb lathe to their basement. Looks like it's tooled up quite well

They’re cute little machines. Most limiting aspect is MT1 tailstock. That being said, I used one for years modifying pipe fittings for employer. Charged $3 an end to machine 3/4” NPT couplings to socket-weld, made enough to buy a larger lathe.
 
Good example of not needing the biggest equipment in any department to learn on & make parts, especially if you get a fair price on it that you can resell in the future to recoup the $$

My entire shop was built on trading up for very little investment.
