I'm not saying this is a deal, but then this forum has gotten away from posting deals spotted to become more "machines of interest spotted" and given the appreciation for small shapers and how many 7" shapers are currently out there for sale it is good to have comparable machines posted.

Guilty as charged. One of the reasons I headed in that direction is because when I started I had no idea what a good deal was & wasn't. Still unsure. Geography, options, age, condition, missing tailstocks, hell, I didn't even know what half the equipment was that I was posting! :D Here I am, coming up on two years in this godforsaken place & I still don't understand most of the fine nuances. All I know is my head is spinning, I've met some knowledgeable, wonderful, giving, unselfish people (online & meat space) and my wallet is MT.

As such, I have a new mandate. I want to suck each & every one of you into spending money you don't have on projects you don't need drawing on your non-existent time. There, cat's out of the bag... :p

I agree. Post away! It's good to have an idea of what's out there, even if I'm not in the market for any new (large) purchases.

And I love seeing the pictures, especially of the classic machines.

I guess the "deals" in Member Spotted Deals could refer to the fact that it's a great price for the buyer - or the seller. Air quotes optional.

To clarify, my only real objection is to the forum name, not the postings themselves. The more postings the better.

There should be two sections, classifieds for people directly involved in a sale, and a member spotted interesting tools/machines for sale section.

A poster can then say "a steal, a scam, a gouger" in their title if they so choose. I like to see descriptive titles and machines I may have missed, or just as good, machines that are over priced and then have had to reduce the price repeatedly. It is a great educator.
