Needs a lot of work cleaning it up, but might be a serviceable lathe under that rust.....

I think the authorities need to be notified..... It would appear that this poor lathe has been a victim of that tailstock abduction ring....

If I had to guess it's most likely an auction buy that never got hooked up due to the 3phase motor. Would explain the tailstock missing, as the auction guys love to separate anything that is removable. No tailstock is a big downside though.....Curious to see what those ways look like. Could be light rust easily serviceable, or a much bigger problem. The chuck while ugly, would probably be fine and usable with some disassembly and lubrication lovin. The 220v 3p motor is an easy VFD solution.

The "looking to get rid of it ASAP" always makes me smile. Thanks for telling me there is meat on the bone there to negotiate..... Could be a very nice deal for someone. A price is ALWAYS a starting point .

The slide block for the taper is even there on the right side of the tray.

Tailstock could laying around somewhere, maybe. When I bought my lathe I found the follow rest in another building hiding in a corner.
