2x72 grinder build

I built one a few years back. Best and most used piece I have ever built. It started with 1HP motor I was given, then made mostly with bits I had laying around.

At walmart vevor 2 x 82 grinder is only $900!

It looks like adapted home made stuff!

The 2 x 72 vevor is $1100 on their site...

Again looks like adapted home made design.

Still nothing beats $600.

My design will have ability to tilt i.e. lay flat - not sure how useful it is.

It took nearly 10h to make the rollers...

I've thought about it a couple of times, but I really haven't found a need for one.

Same here - I settled for a 4000 SFM or so with a 3600 rpm motor on a 4.25 or so drive wheel.

I also don't see huge advantage from having a VFD - some people run it fast for metal and slow for wood or something like that thus maybe it makes more sense - apparently some ceramic belts like super fast speeds - like 8000 SFM - I just have regular belts.

The problem with running them on their side is the belt gets worn in one place so it is beneficial running it on a bit of a angle to use all the belt surface.
