Honestly, knowing what I know now about these lathes (and I'm far from an expert) I'd make an offer if I was closer. Like 1000-1500 tops assuming the heatstock gearbox isnt smashed to bits and the ways arent beat to death. They are surprisingly not that complicated really.

So I went to go look at this today and seems quite rough hand crank obvious bearing damaged as well took a smack to break off and the cross slide didn't move as the end was damaged and possibly the screw is bent, in the 4th picture if you open that door it tells a whole different story with no gears behind it and missing the keeper for the gear plunger also I wasn't able to turn the lead screw as it seemed to bind immediately so maybe even bent lead screw? I tried different lever engagements with no success. The headstock seemed smooth as I moved through the gears and the ways looked good and was square to the 3jaw chuck which was the only chuck and nothing else except a few hss bits so nothing there. As we chatted I noticed a Bridgeport IN behind had a look at that he said its next to go out and immediately my eyes went to the broken handle on it as well he also he had got very chatty when I opened up the end so at that point I didn't make an offer said needed to do some measuring at home. I can see the appeal of these machines seeing one in person but I just didn't get a good feel for me.

It's good to be realistic. Kudos to you for going and checking it out. That's what I did for myself and have also done for others. But you have to be fast. If it's a good one, it will be gone before you have time to think about it.
