Unfortunately, no. The manual for this import lathe is lacking this information. So for yours, is that basically an SAE30 gear oil or engine oil or ?

Just curious as to what you guys suggest for lathe gearbox oil? Specifically I have a CX707 and would like to flush/change oil in head stock, change gear and carriage gearboxes. Also any other maintenance suggestions while changing oil would be great. -Brett

Definitely not a deal breaker if it comes down to it, haven't completely discouraged the idea. I hate taking the initial plunge into something... :)

Didn't end up calling. Thanks for the link Bill. One thing holding me back is having to change gears for threading. I'm new to machining, have minor lathe/mill experience and don't want to rush into it.
