    Musical Machines

Just add coolant to get that different sound lol. I like the sounds of air and high speed machining in the morning. High octane fuel with a stick in the evenings...

    Supplies Picatinny cutting tools?

I agree with @historicalarms From a hobby/timing standpoint, this could make sense. From a cost effective standpoint, I would look at purchasing, spend the extra time making other things.

    Tips/Techniques Using magnets for slivers.

Oh... you nailed it when machining with a ball nose. 4 flute are worse than 2 flt, that's why I always choose a 2 flute lol. Since I never wear boots anymore. I find getting them out of my socks and feet are the most fun. The body just doesn't want to bend and twist in that many ways. Even...

Tips/Techniques Need some guidance on a lathe/mill comb machine

Take your time in this economy, some people are buying just about anything for ridiculous prices. I would save your $$ for a least 6-8 months, then, I'm sure you will see much better deals. I would stay away from the combo's , but that's just me. Jus' my thoughts thou...

Finding Lathe Spindle center line in CNC with multiple tools

When you programmed your 1 way boxed toolpath. Do you have an option for optimization? It may not matter with the part you machined, but, If so, optimization will leave you a much better uniform 3D sidestep finish when travelling in 1 direction. You won't see a greater sidestep when travelling...

Finding Lathe Spindle center line in CNC with multiple tools

I wonder why they hammered STL file imports, I suppose they can no longer support some translators within the CAD ? If I design and machine in Mastercam, I can regenerate without too much problem. However, I would have to generate a new CAM file as well if I make a design change in Solid works...

Tool Do I need a Machinist Clamping Set?

I agree with others to make your own as needed. 4140 is decent enough material for t-nuts, although mine are made from A2 and heat treated. I find S7 threaded rod is much better than the studs offered in any set available on the market these days.
