If you happy with the performance of the 90's then that's all the matters. Myself, I prefer the 90's for milling and the 45's for facing. I find with the 90's for facing, you need to take a heavier cut ( depending on the corner rad and insert type ) With the 45, you can take minimal if your...

That has been my experience as well, with both flat top and dished button inserts. I would like to see if @kstrauss could let us know how his experience has been with them.

What are your thoughts on insert wear when using a button insert vs 45 or 90 degree when facing with them? Do you think they would generate more heat ?

Hey Craig, Do you think you may have had some heat expansion going on? A few years ago, I found that cheaper holders with cheap insert screws didn't work out well. I was applying copper anti seize each time I pulled the inserts out. If I couldn't get them out, I would have to break them out...

Depending on the machine I would say yes. ( Boring mill or the old Cincinnati's, droop and reins etc..) However, for a smaller manual mill less inserts is better due to chatter. This is why, some guys including myself, will pull 2 inserts out of a 4 pocket tool in order to eliminate this. Not...

For sure, no bigger than 2" 45 deg. The cutter you posted isn't a feed mill style, hopefully someone here can post something so you can have a look. I'm not at the shop for several days this week so I won't be able to post what I use until later in the week possibly. Feed mill inserts are better...

It will work fine, just need to push your ear plugs in a little deeper and the radio up louder vs the other cutters.

X2 with what @phaxtris posted... other than the triangular indexable insert that he does mention isn't the greatest and I wouldn't use them anymore myself. The others would be a great start for facing. The others that are posted above in the Accusize offerings are more for milling IMO. You...
