There isn't much meat left on the top slide to put threads into, it's only 0.200".
A nut on the bottom like @combustable herbage made is probably the way to go.
I saw that thread, I think yours is the cleanest install that I've seen out there. Did you use the 14mm stud that comes with the qctp, or did you make one? Did you fill the recess on the top side?
A solid tool post is certainly on the project list as well!
