I think that would be an excellent starting point for someone wanting to make rifle barrel machine...has enough starting points to make a worthwhile project.

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do when big $hit needs worked on...rosebud torches and 4x torque multipliers can make things "snap" quite loudly when stuff finally moves.

from the photo and some of the post's . it apears to me that it cuts the same as any of the old style deep hole drills and they dont wonder much at all, they leave a centering dimple that is the last thing to be cut...the drill stays centered on that dimple and follow it through the cut.

This entire thread reminds me why I still use "pencil & paper" and the "English" language :)

My daught & sil have a comercial bought bandsaw mill that will cut 26" butt logs and as long as you want to make the track, I think they have only 6 grand total into it.

My problem is the deep grass "protects" better than my "remember where its at" function. Good job with the rotors John, I have half a dozen in that long grass waiting for their # to come up in the "project" list. those big ol' break drums that Chicken will laying around make excellent...
