Is it possible to adjust the clutch on the feed shaft? I can make it slip a bit more easily than I feel ok with. The manual doesn't say, but I know a few of you, such as @Brent H and @RobinHood have been into this model deeper than I have.
The only way to ensure a good operation is to make sure the springs (5) and balls (6) are doing a good job. If the shaft slips a lot it could be the detent is worn on the gear (34)
It does feel like they may be worn, which would be odd based on the overall great condition of the lathe. I guess i'm going to have to pull it apart. On my Emco, the clutch is easily adjustable, and I was hoping for the same on this lathe.
