  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. This is very solid advice. But I'd water it down a bit. Don't be afraid of losing a little in the process. Think of it as rent and the cost of an education.

Ah good to know, the red deer units might be back on the menu as some things changed regarding his availability, I'll keep people posted, the fellow say that he has barely any use on them, I know it's not the best price but I like the mentality of treating any "loss" on resale like a rental
 
I think the bonus on those machines is that you get to see them before buying.

And IMO there is no loss, it is all justified by $/(pleasure over the years). I owned a 1976 Ferrari for 10 years and had bills for CA$26k plus fuel, lots of it. At 2600/year it was a bargain.

Agreed and really good point :) and nice about the Ferrari, that is a once in a life time thing if that for anyone, good point that at $2600/year it's very worth it.
