Well if a guy was looking for a reason to build an end mill sharpener.

I bought a mixed lot of HSS end mills and HSS lathe bits years ago: most of the end mills are in a scrap box for “future” use as round HHS blanks. However, 95% of the lathe bits were usable and I have actually used one recently for a grooving application - saved a ton of time grinding one fom a blank.

this looks like a bargain. You can use a diamond hone to touch up most of these mills and use them effectively.

To me it looks like $5 per used end mill and $0.50 per ground down stub that averages out to $1/each

It might be worth it for the good ones, but imo there are lot that are basically scrap.
