Does anyone recognize this brand of vise?

It's fairly old, 3" drill press type likely American made, could use a good cleaning and a splash of paint.

I was killing time in the shop today and thought I would do a small repair to my drill press vise so I started washing it off in the solvent tank. I had never cleaned it up in all the years I've owned it. It came ( well used) with the shop and I thought nothing of it for decades. As I was cleaning it up I saw the same logo as what you have. My vise is identical to yours except mine has a "5" cast into the top rear and is I think 5" wide. The screw that locks the acme screw to the movable jaw was sheared off so the jaw had to be retracted by hand. I found that the screws used to assemble the vise are a 28 TPI thread and similar diameter to a #10 -24 screw, making them a 7/32-28 BSF I believe. I have not found anything else that matches.I would say our vises were probably made in England but I have no further info yet. Seem to be an OK vice. Well made.

Sometimes I just need to open my eyes, cast in the bottom Made in Japan.

This reminds me of a work trip I made to Egypt years ago. I really felt like a fish out of water. I took some money out of a bank machine at the airport and looking at the face I had no clue as to the values of the various bills. I shoved them into my wallet and thought I'm going to need to figure this out.

The next day I'm at work (I was teaching a course) and I was chatting with a fellow from the UK and I commented what's up with the money I have no clue whats what? The guy looked at me with a bit of a squint and a snicker and stated look on the other side. I pulled out one of the bills and flipped it over and everything was written in English, we all had a bit of a laugh, welcome to Egypt.

Haha, that's funny. Mine has absolutely no other markings anywhere. I'll have to check again with metric thread checker but the first time around nothing metric was a match
