@Elwin Murley noticed a good source for Acme Rod. I'm posting for him.

I have noticed that some people were searching for "ACME" treaded rod. I just found some at "The Bolt Supply House". They carry 1/2", 3/4" & 1". They also carry nuts for it as well. the prices are very good, 3/4" x 36" for less than $20.00!​

The issue for me is there acme rod is right hand thread and many machines use left hand thread. The price is good though

I special ordered a 3 foot piece of 1.25 inch left hand thread acme rod from them when I rebuilt my mill. I made a new Y axis lead screw from it. I was very impressed with the quality and it was only about $80.
