Over the top ball turning attachement

I repurposed that wobbly wonky ball I had turned into a flag pole cap. Couldn't figure out a way of salvaging it.

Cool. What does it attach to? What did that thing go for?

    Group Sourcing Metal Ideas

Any interest in doing the group buy in hot rolled instead of cold rolled? For me, having a stash of something is better than having no stash at all.

Well that's too bad. I was looking forward to having a stash of materials to draw from at whim. Sure appreciate your efforts though. Would there be any interest in doing the group buy in hot rolled instead?

Looking at DRO for 6x26 knee mill - need advice

That banggood website is hard to follow. Looks to me $150cdn for the 3 axis display unit and $50cdn and up for the scales. So probably $300cnd when all is said and done. Sound about right?

Looking at DRO for 6x26 knee mill - need advice

Are you in for 3 if the price is right? What's your price point? I found a $215US package. Purchasing 5 or more reduced it to $204US. Free shipping via DHL. Still responsible for Duty. I'm thinking 5 units will draw more attention with the duty inspectors v.s. one. Worth it?

Looking at DRO for 6x26 knee mill - need advice

Any feel for what kind of better deal could be obtained? I'm sure there are others on this forum interested in going the DRO route.

Which one did you get? I'm about to ordering one as well. How did you specify scale lengths with the supplier? Via email or was there provision to specify them during the checkout?

OKay...who scooped the Atlas lathe for a song?

Over the top ball turning attachement

Not one to give up readily I decided to try turning another 2" aluminum ball. This time I turned a mandrel hoping to get around the excessive hang out dilemma. The threaded stub is 3/8-16 NC. This arrangement gave me no end of grief. So I went back to using a 3/8" bolt and the steady...

https://kickinghorsewelders.ca/index.php?main_page=product_machines_info&cPath=125_133&products_id=440 No offence taken with regard to your comment. This welding thing is way more difficult than I ever imagined. My biggest problem is that even with auto darkening lenses I can't see the path...

    Kijiji welder, better than nothing!

I picked up one of these KickingHorse™ F130 IGBT Inverter Flux Core Gasless MIG Welders. $200 + Tax landed. Works ok. All that I have done with it thus far is prove that I have absolutely no natural welding talent what so ever. LOL.
