Powder coating

Edit: added photo of the transformer which puts a negative charge on the part and a positive charge on the powder as it is blown out of the gun. You can see the alligator clip wire attached to the part on the stand. The gun has another wire to the cathode in the gun tip.

Sorry to keep asking silly questions but...The alligator clip when attached is not going to let the paint pass. Does it leave a unpainted spot where the clip was or is there a way to prevent that?
Ah. So there is enough residual charge that you can put a bit more powder on the spot under the clip after you take it off.

Okay thanks! I thought there must be something or all the powder coated stuff would have little clip mars on it. I really want one of these set ups so I hope you don't mind more questions. I see that you were able to get paint locally, do they sell the guns etc. as well?

Are these ebay.ca prices any good? (the typical shipping goofball stuff, but sometimes when they have stores they will combine item orders). I just searched on 'powder coating powder'.

On an unrelated happy note I just took a winger gamble on some Korloy inserts through fleabay. They go for about 20$/pop in the typical machine catalogs. I was already mentally preparing myself for being duped. You know, like the ebay German Henckel knives... except the slag steel knockoffs are spelled Henkel or Hanckel or the trademark little man symbol has his arms reversed :) But I digress... What showed up was a pack of 10 of the real thing. Or at least they look the same, cut the same & smell the same for <cough> 3$ each.
