    Garage projects

I got a day to mess around in my shop today. I was on the manual lathe this morning making a seal driver so I could put new fork seals in my dual sport. I was using @a smile chuck wrench. If you don't have his chuck wrench yet you should get one it is very high quality. I got my dual sport forks...

    Syil upgrade

The computer is a cash register from 2015. I intercepted before it got to the electronics recycling depot. This computer has very low spec hardware like a 4 core Celeron 1.99GHz CPU and 4gb of ram. The screen resolution is also very low but mach3 has most of it's inputs as on screen keypad so...

    Syil upgrade

I found a nice upgrade for my syil ex250. This all in one is touch screen, has an SSD and importantly a parallel port. This should be much better than the old office pc I had running this lathe. I installed mach3 ran one part. Everything worked perfectly. I settled on windows Vista because it...

    Milling Machine Simulator

I think I have identified a possible use case. A small part of my day job is documentation of Standard opperating procedures. Milling machine simulator could be used to create detailed diagrams for either machine setup or health and safety paperwork.

    Milling Machine Simulator

Hey everyone, I've stumbled upon a game that's as niche as it gets – "Milling Machine Simulator." Yep, you can now virtually mill stuff! I know, right? It's surprisingly functional, though, and the graphics are... well, they're something! I have attached more screenshots than anyone has asked...

    Cat 40 Arbours

CAT 40 is standard on most American made CNC Machines BT 40 is on a lot of Japanese (Chinese) equipment. The groove for the tool changer is at a different Guage length and the drive dogs are different. I have been ordering some Cat 40 tool holders on Aliexpress for about $75 each. It is a good...

    The Big Lathe

I did notice this one had gears from 1.1 up to 26, I hope that isn't RPM. But it might be. Yeah I can confirm a huge half inch inscribed circle TNMG was welded to about a 3 inch block in one arm. The other arm had a slightly different CNMG cutter in it.

    The Big Lathe

I am employed by a corporation that oversees several subsidiary entities. Recently, I had the chance to visit one of these subsidiaries and was truly fascinated by a massive vertical lathe I encountered during my tour. I managed to snap a photo of it, with me standing on the chuck to give a...

    Anybody still using Mach3?

yes. I have been using the mach3 wizards. They work good enough for my purposes. I have attached a few screen shots so you can see the options.

    Anybody still using Mach3?

I was running my Syil Ex250 this Sunday with mach3 controller. For 2 axis turning it seems pretty good. If I could find a perfect post for fusion360 to mach3 turn I would be even happier. I haven't found a post for fusion that will turn a ball properly yet.
